Root m835 custom roms?

Playfulgod has ported a version of CM7 for the M835, and a modded stock rom. We're waiting on the repackage of the newest release right now since many people have had problems getting it installed but the final product should be done soon (hopefully) :)

Anyway it's the only actual rom available for the M835...there's not much of a market for them since it's a metro-only phone and not too popular :(

Should add, be careful when installing these ROMs, there will be bugs and sorts as its not quite done.

This phone was set for failure when Huawei put crappy hardware in it.
 
I backed my original stock on it and flashed Cy7 on it everything was a cake walk on it the only thing i noticed that didnt work was the WIFI gives me an error when i try to turn it on. But everything else is good that i know off.;)
 
i also tried flashing cm7 to my m835 but almost completely bricked it in the procces!!!also my phone wouldnt allow the install it kept aborting the action.i was pretty bummed out but you cant rush these things ....or else who knows might happen..
 
did you use the clockwork recovery step one wipe data/factory after that wipe cache partition, wipe Dalvik cache then format boot system data and cache then install from sd/card worked for me every time and i have flashed Icarus on my M835 but i don't recommend using it thus the resolution is to big on it.

Try not to use roms made for other phones, causes too many
problems, like the resolution.
 
any new news on m835? fully functioning and working rom yet? nobody has posted here since sept. 14th. itchin. thanx. scotty
 
I am currently working on a custom rom. I need to research on a couple things and run some tests, but hopefully I will have it up and shared by this tuesday or wednesday. I'm going to devote all my time away from work to complete it. I am working to achieve 2.3 effect, but compatible for 2.2. This will not be a frankenport. If anyone has recommendations for an initial release, please comment or pm me. I have several phones to work with, so resources aren't an issue so much. I want to keep it lightweight as possible, so I want to stick with just one theme and load it with dev tools. Theme suggestion anyone? =o

I want to add.. This method works on this port. However, if you overshoot, it is hell to try to fix using the phone itself. Have everything backed up on the computer! =P

So are you going to upload that custom rom today or tomorrow. Been waiting since Sunday
