Help Mac Image Capture question

speedramp

Lurker
When I plug my Bionic into my Mac (Snow Leopard), Image Capture opens up as expected, but it doesn't see any photos/videos. On my last two phones (iPhone 4s and Droid X) Image Capture would open and then show all the images on the phone. I could then import all or import new images only.

It would also remove any images after importing.

Both the phone and the SD card show up in the list, but that's the extent of it. ..and yes, I've clicked "usb mass storage" in the pull down notifications screen.

any ideas??

thanks!

The same thing happens with my phone. I haven't really looked into it more, since I just use the Dropbox app to sync all photos from the phone to Dropbox and then import any that I want from there.

yeah, I've just discovered that Picasa imports them just fine. I just can't figure out why Image Capture doesn't like my Bionic.

It appears to be a known issue with OS X. The import issue started with the 10.6.5 update to Snow Leopard and is still not working on 10.7.3 (I just checked.) Apparently this works fine if you have 10.6.4.

You can always open iPhoto and manually import photos from the DCIM folder on the MOT drive. Definitely not a perfect solution...

You can also report the bug to Apple. I know that Image Capture works fine when I connect my old HTC Eris.
