Help mac mail connection error

Lurker
I've had my Epic for 3 months now and have had no problem receiving email from my .mac email account (same no problem on my palm phones for the past many years).
Two days ago, I had a "connection error" on the mac email account on my epic and quit receiving emails (but am able to get on my Mac). I can send emails from the epic and send/receive emails on my gmail.

I talked with sprint, they had me do all sorts of resets and finally a hard reset. didn't work.
today I got a replacement Epic. same error and 1 hour on the phone with support and no resolution.

contacted Apple and they said there have been no changes in email settings on their end.

anyone else having this problem?
if you do receive email from a mac account on your phone, can you let me know your port settings for incoming mail?

HELP!!!
thanks,
Rick

update:
sprint called me back. I had the rep try to access my email using different phones. She did an epic, centro and another android. she set up my account and it went through was able to get email only on the centro. the other two phones got the same "connection error" that i have been getting.
sounds like an android problem.

Hi,
a few days after I posted this, my phone was next to me and beeped alerting me of email. I looked at it and all my Mac mail was there.
I have no idea what happened, but it has worked pretty good since. Crazy.
I hope it comes back to you. it was about two weeks I was without mac email (however, i forwarded my mac to my gmail and was able to get it that way).

Let us know if anything changes,

Rick

ok...I must have jinxed myself because the problem came back, just like before. "connection error". Can send from the mac email on the Epic, but not receive. Had to go into my mac account on my Mac and have the emails forwarded to gmail.

called sprint again, but they had no answers.

Anyone else having this? it would be nice to know how wide spread this is.

PLEASE REPLY
Rick

Yes, I have had this same problem with my Samsung Epic slide. The mac email worked fine for about 5 weeks, when I began to get the "connection error" message. I took it to the store, they did all those resets and decided it was an issue with that particular unit so they gave me another phone. The second phone worked for two weeks and then went kablooie again. This time I spent about 4 hours total with both Sprint at the store and then on the phone and chatting with Apple help. Apple finally said that they only time they guarantee that there will be reliable connection to their server is if you have a mac product: iPhone, iPad, etc. I find it hard to believe. My husband has a, HTC EVO and has had NO problems, ever.

This note probably did not help, but this is the dual run around I am getting. I am going to try to get an EVO slide tomorrow and hope for the best.
