I ended up breaking root on my N7 and not wanting to go through windows I did a quick search and found a toolkit for Macs that should unlock, root, lock unroot your N7.
I decided to give it a whirl:

It worked, but I was already unlocked so rooting is all I can confirm. The SU package is a bit different the listed on the page, (newer version) but it worked for me. The best part was, NO DRIVERS TO INSTALL!!!
Could be worth a shot, as always you assume the risk if you decide to try it.
