Mac with mountain lion connectivity

I am trying to connect and transfer files between my note 2 and IMac with latest version of mountain lion, but no luck it does not recognize the USB connections. I installed the Sansung Kies, but still no luck, anybody else are having the same problem or any solution that you guys know, please help.

I have an iMac with ML and use Samsung Kies without any problems.
I do notice that the phone does not appear as a disk mounted on the desktop but Kies seems to have no problem seeing the phone and I can sync my music etc.

Make sure you are connecting directly to your Macs USB ports and not via a USB hub as these can cause problems. Ensure you have the latest version of Kies and don't forget the simple such as re-booting your Mac.

Make sure you dont have the android app intalled on 10.8 as well.
