Magazine Reader Reviews?

Checked the forum, didn't really see anything that helps. Also Google searched the web. Nothing good. So here goes.

When it comes to viewing magazine subscriptions is there any articles that speak about the pros/cons of the various android apps? I'm talking about digital versions of PC Magazine. Maximum PC, Sports Illustrated, etc. And I'm not talking about new readers like Flipboard, New360, Pulse, etc.

The article would talks about the library of offerings on that reader, price competitiveness, navigation, how well is displays on phone/tablet screens, speed, etc.

I've been using Zinio for years, but it is not perfect. I've never liked it's interface/navigation much. Newer apps like Google Play Magazines and the Kindle App should be included in a comparison. I like how the Kindle works better, but I'm not sure if it is the same pricing or has as many magazines as Zinio.

Anyhow, all I could find to date is mostly outdated reviews and not even one that has like a Kindle App vs Zinio.

Anyone know of such reviews?

Anyone have any feedback on magazine readers?

Here is what I found.

Zinio - the android app is not good. Text is frequently fuzzy and sometimes unreadable. If you zoom in/out a few times it'll come into focus. But its a PITA. This software does download the entire mag for offline reading

Google Magazines - much more responsive and text sharpens up quickly after zooming. So this one is usable - but selection is limited. The program appears to download only a few pages as you read. So slow going if you flip past a couple ads, then have to wait. Not sure what happens if I can't get online.

Guess it's to check out a couple more apps
