Magnetic closure case

Hi all,
Someone has given me a leather case for my galaxy ace phone, it has a magnetic closure.
Is the magnet likely to interfere with the electronics in any way?
Has anyone any advice?

Hi, I had the same question a while ago. Most forums say it will affect the phones sensors & may wipe the SD Card memory, but others say they are using a magnetic closure without any problems at all. So the choice is yours, but I'm not using one, better to be safe than sorry!! See if anybody else has an input here. Graham - London

I have 2 magnetic closure cases (pocket and belt clip) that close on either the back of the phone (pocket) or the front (belt clip). The back closure may be causing an odd echo when making calls (still investigating and not convinced) but otherwise the phone is working fine.

It can cause the Magnetic sensor to fail.....so you wont be able to use compass apps and it will not point to north correctly

Maps will fail along with nav.,gprs will be weakened and even the battery will take a hammering....besides,you may have conn. problem in poorly supported areas.
