Mail count has gone

I have a Wildfire and for some reason on my Mail app that was all ready on the phone when i got the mail count has gone so now i need to go into the Mail app to check if any new emails but before i didnt have to do that as the count would tell me how many emails i had.

so is there something im doing wrong with it and why would it just stop?

Again its the mail app that was build into the mail with the white letter and mail under it.
 
Are you talking about Gmail? If so, any versions after Gmail 2.3.2 will not show the email count on apps like MissedIt etc. This is on Googles end, and not much you can do other than keeping 2.3.2 of Gmail installed.

No its not the Gmail one.

its the one where you can add email accounts from other then Gmail.
 
Edit: Checked my advice, and it was wrong. Sorry.

...Anyway, did you try removing it from your desktop, and the re-adding it?
