The Home button and Recent Apps button at the bottom of the screen stopped responding today. The Back button still responded.

I did a Wipe Cache Partition. I tried Safe Mode. There was still no response.

I did a Factory Data Reset and they are working correctly again.

Curiously ... the last Wipe Cache Partition I did took 14 minutes (no I am not making this up) . The Factory Data Reset showed that it did a Wipe Cache Partition as part of its activity. Tthe Factory Data Reset took 4 minutes.

That's because Motorola is using a brain - dead method to wipe the cache partition. A simple format would be fine, which is likely what the factory data reset script does.
