Ok- so I went to a local Corp. Verizon Store to check out the Razr vs the Rezound. I'm jumping off the Nexus train and the Razr has been my preferred option. So I'm driving through the Razr screens and while I'm waiting for the Market to load I distinctly notice the shadows of shortcuts images on the bottom of the flat grey background- specifically the ones that pull full time duty in the dock. Since the web connection was non-existant the grey background stayed in loading mode, and I had hoped the shadows would fade as time passed- they did not. A classic case of image retention.
I then checked the 2 other working demos and they all had the same problem. I also checked other backgrounds and they showed - to a greater or lesser extant, on most.
Clearly these demos are running at full brightness- all day long- so the effect is exaggerated- but these have only been up for less than 2 weeks. Any way you shake it this is not a good sign for screens over a 2 year lifespan.
What the f?
Is this something that is seen more on Super Amoled screens over lcds?
