Major Go SMS Pro Issue - Help!!

kmw358

Lurker
I have the EVO 4g and have had Go SMS Pro installed for a while now. The problem doesn't happen too often but it is the most frustrating thing when it does. And now It's happened twice in about twelve hours.
The problem:
It's going to sound ridiculous, but sometimes when I click the app instead of opening, it launches whatever app I used previously. It basically becomes another app. If I hit the back button, it does what it would normally do if I hit back in the app that it is displaying. I've tried continually pressing back to exit the app it launched, hoping it would then bring me to go sms. However, it then launches which ever app I used before the last one. This continues til I go through every app I've used and then brings me back to the home screen. I've tried force stopping it, and it doesn't work. I've tried launching it from every icon possible (the menu bar, Google play list of my apps) and nothing works.

The only hope I have is to wait til someone texts me and click open in the popup window. That always works and brings the convo up, however when I hit back, trying to go to my list of conversations it only works like 20% of the time. When it doesn't work it brings me right back to the last app I used. I wind up having to use the stock messaging app, which I hate, until it resolves itself somehow.

Has anyone else ever seen this issue/ have any idea how to fix it.
The only thing I haven't done is uninstall. Because of the customized themes, if I have to uninstall every time I'm just gonna get rid of it.

Thanks for reading and for any help!

I gave up on Go SMS when they forced you to log onto their servers to back up. Take a look at Pansi SMS, it has all the good parts of Go without the bloat and the irritation. If you want to keep Go, somewhere in the settings is a place to backup your themes and settings and you can restore them after a re-install.

Yup, I gave up on gosms when they did that too. Pansi is decent, but Handcent is a bit more to my liking.

Pansi is great and all when I tested it, but it has one feature missing that I want, and its splitting messages sent to multiple individuals to separate threads. Does it still not have that feature?
