Make 3 button Navigation Transparent?

I chose to use the 3 button navigation instead of the gestures on my pixel 4a 5g/android 11. But the 3 button nav basically uses about 1/3 inch of screen that's just blacked out with the 3 buttons. Basically 1/3 inch of wasted space on most apps. Is there anyway to make the 3 button navigation transparent on all apps?

note sure on the pixel, but you might want to look into using a custom launcher like nova or ADW. they are very customizable and have some really cool effects and transitions.
