I know this may seem strange, but I absolutely HATE the dock screen. I don't EVER want it on. I am very serious about this and it WILL make me eventually switch phones to a cheap, generic, garbage phone. I am even willing to pay. I am NOT willing to change roms or freeze the clock app because I still need the alarms as backups. I have one of these things from the ancient times of 2003 called an alarm clock with volume so loud Android can only wish it can wake me up so easily.

I do not want the dock screen. I want it gone. Every clock app I tried kept giving me a screen of some sorts when I plugged it into my car. Unlike the other 99.99% of Android users, I absolutely hate this screen. I've even had to cash in on my insurance when I threw the phone into a small parts plastics grinder at work and turned it into a thousand little pieces.

I don't have a dock because this phone isn't worth it. I will eventually upgrade. I cannot push this issue any harder. It was tough enough getting the "back" key to force close an app. Even when I force close the clock app, and plug it in 5 seconds later, this annoying screen that makes my home screen take 30 seconds plus to load when I practically punch the "home" icon on it. The weather doesn't even work. This new phone already has a small hairline crack from hitting the home key too hard. I have no patience as a person and am very temperamental.

Plug into house, no dock screen. Plug into USB, no dock screen. Into 12vDC car, it angers me to the point of no return.

This phone is stock rom and rooted. Please help me get rid of this nuisance. I'll even pay you if I have to. I'll do anything short of changing roms (because when I tried step by step, it screws up everytime.)

How about if you install a new alarm app (like Alarm Clock Xtreme), and use Titanium Backup to delete the built-in clock app?

I may be barking up the wrong tree, though, because I've never gotten the "Dock screen" by any action that I can recreate. Sometimes it just starts flipping out and displays a clock and I have to hit the Home key a few times to make it quit. But that only happens every once in a great while -- like monthly -- and I didn't even make the association with a "Dock screen" until I read your note.

Another idea... if it only happens with your car charger, maybe try a generic micro-USB charger (they even have them at 7-11 these days). Maybe the LG charger is "helpfully" telling your phone it's time to hit the docks.

That's what the clock looking screen you mentioned is. I already froze the drivesmart system thinking it was that. I froze "car and Car home" with no luck. I'll try the clock app you mentioned, and if it works, I'll freeze the default clock app. Thanks.
