Making the switch to metropcs, does anyone have money saving tips?

Im making the switch from t-mobile to metropcs today, specifically for this phone. I was wondering what you guys did to make the deal even sweeter, and if you managed to save some more money. I know about samsung on5 deal but I cant qualify since im t-mobile. Any advice greatly appreciated.

You could always start a new line and get half off, so 50 bucks.

Or you can get a Google voice number, unlock that number (around 3 bucks) to get the phone for 40.

Thanks for the response guys, paid 137$ for it and a plan. Great phone, best cheap phone ive had. one thing you dont get from pictures online is that there is a small camera bump.

What do you use your phone for? Do you tether a lot? Just use it for phonecalls and light data use? It all depends.
Heavy data user + tether? 60 dollar plan.
Mid data usage + some tether? 40 dollar plan.
Little data usage little to no tether? 30 or 20 dollar plan.

And if you go for the 60 dollar plan and want to tether, I wont say it here, but you will be very happy with what you see.

Im a heavy user but I started with the 30$ plan to test the throttling speed, ill be switching to the 60$ plan next month for tethering. Haha I know what you mean bro thanks. btw does your vibrator work, I just cant get mine to work I might have to return the phone.

Yeah, mine works fine. If yours doesn't work then you should return the phone.

I used up my 1 gig high speed data, I wanted to test the throttle speed after it and its bad. Pretty much unusable 9-14 kbps actual download speed so its 2g (although they say 3g in store) and a 137 mb file takes about 3-4 hours to download. Will switch to the 60$ plan next cycle.
I did get my phone replaced and noticed some differences in the new phone I got, the trim is much better on the new one, it appeared scratched up on the old one and less pronounced, the digitizer pattern is different also the front camera is off center in the new one. I guess I have too much free time.

T-Mobile wouldn't let you finance? I love my Jump On Demand plan, shotty credit So i just paid a deposit. BingeOn is sweet... maybe I missed something, what is it you were paying t mobile/why the switch if u don't mind me asking.

I didnt want them to finance a phone since I would still pay the sticker price of the phone plus interest over 24 months and since I was on a prepaid plan. It was the 60$ unlimited plan I spoke to t-mobile before switching and they didn't offer me anything. I asked for bingeOn but they said its only for postpaid customers, I asked if they would sell the zmax pro themselves they said probably not, I asked for an alternate phone they are selling in the same price range but that didnt go well as the sales rep didnt know the difference between HD and Full HD and wanted me to order a samsung on5. The main reason I switched was for the phone I cracked the screen on my old one, I was about to buy the redmi note 3 but I always wanted a 6 inch phone and I decided the import process wasn't worth it. Plus its the same network so it couldnt be much worse and I would get more value out of the 60$ metropcs plan (25 gigs) vs the 60$ tmobile plan (10 gigs).

Unless you live in a large city or area where T-Mobile is used a LOT, there really isn't a limit on data. I've used 30GB per month for 3 months in a row and never faced any throttling or slow speeds. But MetroPCS does slow your data down in congested areas after you reach 21GB.

Okay i get a little more why your doing this. They are discontinuing the jump on demand anyway. Being a dev i personally don't mind financing since I can upgrade 3x a year. BingeOn yes you cannot get FULL hd but honestly on a small screen and to save what could be THOUSANDS of dollars in data overage (I used 89 gigs last month), it is worth it for me. I turn binge off thru mobile app easily for when I need full HD. There's some e excellently priced unlocked phones by brand Blu ...just fyi for the future.
If i were to switch id 100% go ProjectFi. I own every nexus device anyway and the plans are great. I just wanted to throw my two cents In...hope metro fits your needs but hey if not your not locked down ;). And as stated above metro notoriously throttles , they need to stay cost effective. I've not much knowledge on that handset but should be some development and possibly workarounds for throttling and or hotspot. I loved metro many years ago when it was localized regionally south east. Anyway ebough rambling from me best of luck to ya.

Edit: I'm ADHD and never retain details in what I read , after re reading your posts it sounds like some offers were missing, curse the lazy rep you got. (I've had many spats with them and customer service to the point where the CEOs secretary called me everyday for a week. Lets just say I've been compensated nicely. Never settle for unsatisfactory reps, chains of command are useful.
