If you're not in China, it's login to download, never realized that. And you definitely have to read Chinese(or know someone who can) to make a Baidu account, because there's a Chinese CAPTCHA.

I can upload to mega.co.nz. But I'm away from home for a few days, and hotel bandwidth is very slow.

I called Jiayu one of the less reputable manufacturers, because all their phones are sold on-line through various vendors, even in China. And they're certainly not making it easy for non-Chinese users.

I have an Oppo Find 7a myself, as well as a Samsung S4.

That's Baidu username and password, and the QR takes you to the same thing. Or you can login with a QQ, Weibo or RenRen account, all Chinese. No logging-in with Facebook or Google+ in mainland PRC of course.

I'm home on Friday, should be able to upload to mega then. Can you wait a few days. Do you know any Chinese in your neighbourhood might be able to help? ;)

Don't worry, I've not forgotten you. I've got the ROM here, Should be able to upload to mega.co.nz tomorrow night. ...and hopefully Kim Dotcom is not extradited to the US and the site is not shutdown by the feds.

Actually I had the same problem, also with the JiaYu S3.
I noticed that there are 2 apps, which cause this problem, and are initiated by the Trebuchet launcher.
These apps are 'Recents' but also 'Pleasant'.
These apps don't appear in the android apps list from Settings, neither in other lists form other apps like Android Assistant.
But I noticed the app 'Link2SD' shows these apps, and can remove these as well. So I did.
Also, with Link2SD you can remove Trebuchet Launcher. Make sure you have another launcher already in place and set as the standard launcher.
You can remove Trebuchet Launcher directly, being a system app, or first convert it to a User app. That is what I did, because I wanted to be careful.
Otherwise, with Link2SD you can convert any other launcher from User app to system app, though it is not necessary.

By the way, did you manage to install the new ROM, and is it OK?
You could also download a Lolipop 5.1 ROM from the German JiaYu site, which is lean and mean, or complete, without bloatware. I did not do it myself yet, because I could solve the problem the way I described.

And yes, the JiaYu S3 3GB is a greath phone, except for the fact that after some time Trebuchet comes up with bloatware. But since last month JiaYu has a contract with an external supplier for customizing the ROM.
