I think I know why this is happening, but I don't know how to fix it...or if it can be fixed without paying for a static IP address...or I may be completely wrong and it has nothing to do with dynamic vs. static IP.
OK...I have my lap top entered into the phone complete with MAC address, usually the phone recognizes the laptop and lets it connect...but many times it does not get the IP and does not "completely" recognize the laptop...but still lets it connect.
When that happens...it does NOT show up under "connected devices".
How many other devices could do the same thing? How do I fix this?
Its important because I'm usually sitting in a truckstop with way too many people trying to connect to whatever WiFi they can get a hold of.
I do have the device limit set to 2....but there should be a setting for 1
I also have a pretty good password on it, would that be enough protection if I just skipped the "allowed devices part"?
