Help Managing Contacts with multiple google accounts

Hoping someone has a solution for me.

I have 2 google accounts setup - 1 personal and 1 work (Google Apps).

Here is what is killing me:

I want my contacts for both personal and work to sync with my phone, but..

When I create a new account on my phone, regardless of whether the contact is used for business or personal, it automatically syncs with my contacts for both accounts every time. It would be great if I could choose which account I want to add the contact to. In addition, if I look at the linked contacts, all I see is "Google". This is crazy.

How can I determine which contacts are linked to which Google account?

Is there an app or setting that could help me?

I hope someone has solved this issue! It is driving me crazy. I still have another week to return the phone, and if I can get this sorted out on another phone, then I will move on.

This one got resolved with Gingerbread.

I am having this same issue. How did it get fixed with Gingerbread? I have 2.3.4 but all my accounts still appear as "Google" (I have 3 Google accounts on the device).
