Mandatory 4G?

Sup Guys,

So far this phone kicks A%$!!!! But one thing I cant figure out is does the phone have to stay in 4G? On my Nexus I used to keep 3G on all the time because it was helping me get more battery life, then if I needed faster speed I'd switch over to 4G. But when I try and do that on my Note 2 I can switch from Global to LTE and I think its Analog, but I cant seem to find where I can switch from 4G to 3G?

Any ideas out there? Thanks

You can download an app called "Phone Info" from the Play Store here:

Start app and click on "Device Info".


For 3G only, you want to set it to:

- CDMA auto (PRL)


The normal mode for 3G and 4G is:

- LTE/CDMA/EvDo
