Root manual reboot to recovery

Hold power and vol down.
After lg logo appears release power and vol down.
Tap volume up several times and cwm should pop up. :-)


I originally found this on the motion and hroark added the info to his op on his cm release in the motion all things root section


Edit this only works if you have flashed a cm10 ROM. If not then do not factory reset! Do the Sammyz unbrick and reroot. Then boot to recovery again with app and restore
 
the LG spirit recovery can't be access through a button combo. It's an app only recovery. when you go into the app you have to make sure you click recovery apply! wait for a window to pop up that says success! and then tap reboot
 
Got that. It was working until I installed Icy Spirit ROM. I noticed I didnt have super user and gapps failed to install. Since I now can not install other variations of gapps, Im basically stuck here until I unroot and start everything all over.....well it should be fun

Button combo works on the touch recovery by PG.

I do the button combo all the time and never fails for me.

Just follow the instructions that Aboat gave you. If not try holding power & vol+ then let go of both when LG appears then toggle vol+ & vol- back and forth till you get in recovery.

In that link he never says it only works for CM. He said he's been using it since he installed CM.

It's been confirmed that it works on any rom by Aboatright who was the one that discovered it. I also have confirmed and a few others as well.

It's the reason why I don't need the unbrick guide anymore. If I brick I simply use the button combo to get into recovery and restore a backup.

If it doesn't work for you, I don't know what else to tell you. Maybe it doesn't work for all phones then.

well next time I go to do anything. I'll try it again. just like some seem to be able to use the quick memo on the lock screen and mine won't since i installed custom ROMs

LOL no no Im' not complaining, i don't think it was your ROM's, it wont work on stock either. I think when i was trying out all those roots way back when we first got the phone and ended up soft bricking a few times something happen.
