Help Manually organized menus don't stick

Had the galaxy ace a few days and in order to keep things organized but not fill up the home screens with apps, I decided to painstakingly organize the main menu, using each page for different sort of apps (internet, games etc).
This was working well until the first time I switched the phone off.
When it cam back on, the apps were all back in an iggledy-piggledy order again, with just a few keeping the order I set.

In way to make them stick or is it just one of those things?

Also, does anyone know if there is any logic behind the way it organizes them?
It doesn't seem to be alphabetical or order of installation based.

I am facing the same problem too, I wanted to avoid many home screens but keep the main menu organized in a neatly manner, but facing the same issue you've explained ...

The only solution is I ever found was to use another launcher app.
I am using Go Launcher Ex which sorts the app drawer alphabetically (or however you want to sort it).
Also has many other improvements that make it worthwhile.
I use an Ice Cream Sandwich theme with it but you can also find themes to make it look exactly like the default Galaxy Ace launcher.

Any solution to that? I have this problem too and it's very annoying.

this is already been discussed.....

this will also happen if you connect your phone to pc on data storage mode using usb.

if you really want to organize your apps then try using some of the launchers which have this feature, eg. in awd launcher you can create catalogs and assign different apps to each one of them.
