Root Manually update to jellybean

I found out if your not on the att network then you need to download it via the lg mobile support tool...i have update to jellybean today.

Thank you.
What does this exactly do? Is this LG mobile support tool or something else?

If this is the update tool, does it grab the latest OS from google/LG/etc or is it included? I assume it helps you get the latest OS from somewhere, since it is just 256KB. :)

Later, is it possible to get back to stock firmware? Thanks again!

Yes this will update to the latest firmware on your phone..keep you updated

No at the moment you wil not beable to revert to older firmware's...until this phone's bootloader is unlocked or is loki'd with recovery... you will have to stay to jellybean 4.1.2....

Good news tho.....all escape owners will get the 4.3 update real soon....

As for 4.3 update, in that case I think I should just wait for the 4.3.
Newbie question: When I update to 4.1.2 do I have to restore all my apps/purchases, and will AT&T bloatware remain on my phone?

If you are rooted before firmware update....then yes you will need to reroot and d-bloat

Also if you are still on 4.0....update to 4.1.2 your phone will run and work better..but still your choice...good luck.\

Not sure about the app re-download thing...you might have to i did...

According to LG:

If the current software on your device is version P87010c or P87010f, using the LGST update is recommended. If the software on your device is version P87010i, using the FOTA (Over the air) update is recommended.

My version is 10i, so I can use OTA to update, but when I check on the phone, it says "Cancelled, Authentication Failed"

The links here, Drives and Update Tool, are these same as what you posted on DB?
