Map app

Hello,
Currently i have google maps (installed by default) but if i have locations i visit often, i can mark them with a star. So if i open the google maps app i see an arrow (my location) and the different stars i placed on the maps.
However, I am unable to find out how i can give a name to one of those stars. So if you have to go somewhere, that you know you have marked with a star, then you have to browse through the entire list of stars and hope you remember the street name.
So is there perhaps an other map, that will show me the maps + my location from gps and where i can pin a location on the map and give it a name.

(or can i do this in google maps too, but i just havent figured out how?)

You can't name stared places in Maps.

I'm using the free app 'Place Saver' for that job.
In your Google Maps My Places list share a place with 'Place Saver' ... done :)

Hi,
thanks for the suggestion. but the "my places" app makes a list of the locations with a name. And if you want to show them on google maps then it starts to load the location from the internet.
I was more looking for something that shows all locations directly on google maps or another map application with a nametag, so no internet connection would be required

No internet connection, I see you want an offline maps app.

Have a look at 'Maps With Me'.
The app has offline maps, offline search let you mark places. A tap on the place's pin let you edit its name and add a discription.

Not as easy to use as 'Maps With Me' is 'OsmAnd' with the same offline features. But the app has tracking/routing and even simple navigation ability.

Thanks
I downloaded mapswithme and it works great.
Although it does not always recognize the street name directly, you can manually find it and pin. Now all my locations are marked and named and viewed offline :) :) :)
thanks a lot for the suggestion.
