MAP (Message Access Protocol)

Back in the fall of 2012, I updated my Razr to Jelly Bean. Because it wasn't written with the MAP feature, it killed the ability for my Ford car to announce an incoming text message and read it for me. Does anyone know if KitKat has MAP? And is it phone specific. I'm due for an upgrade in a couple of months and want to make sure the phone I choose has MAP.

I have a '14 Ford Escape Titanium and Droid Razr Maxx with Jely Bean, My car announces and reads text messages to me just fine. Try deleting any MMS (text photos) in recent threads.

IT WORKS AGAIN! Had the Ford dealer update my Sync version from 3.2 to 3.2.6 yesterday. It brought back the text message feature that Jelly Bean broke Same phone, same OS.
