Mapping app other than Google Maps?

Are there any competitive mapping apps to Google Maps? That are any good?

I used to like Google Maps but since an upgrade I no longer have the zoom button and it just seems clunkier. Any recommendations?

Go into your app settings and see if there is an option for Maps to uninstall updates. If so that should take you back to the previous version, you can then go into the settings in the Play store to prevent automatic app updating in the future.
A lot of people have been unhappy with V7 of Maps, and where possible have reverted to V6.

Your question is more mapping but to add to list of offline navigators, try NavFree.

It downloads route maps before you start a journey.

Amen, brother! On any phone I have, I have gone back to the basic versions of Google play store, services, and maps. Every time they update, it eats up more data and space on the phone. And, I don't really see any improvements worth it despite the bragging by them. They should do a much better job of policing the play store instead of wasting it on fancier visuals.

Hello and welcome to the forums. I know of some paid apps also one that is 94.00 to buy it .

Why are you welcoming me? I've been here since April, 2012. Are you going to share which apps those are????

Wow. Thank you. I will look at some of those. The first one on the list looks very promising. Very helpful response. Thank you again.

I didn't know that one can do that. I will look and see if I can revert back. Thank you.

I will take a look at that also. Thank you!!!

To zoom in/out in google maps (as an alternative to clunky two finger pinch in/out) you can double tap and slide up/down (don't lift your finger after 2nd tap). Works fine'...who needs a button.

I'm on a limited data plan....I like navfree..simple and gets the job done.
