Maps=47% of my battery usage??

I have never opened the maps application but it is using 47% of my battery. GPS is turned off and has never been turned on since I have had the phone. This is my third day with the phone, I am happy with the battery because it lasts through the day, but I want the best battery life I can get.

Thanks

Not that I know of.. Like I said I have only had the phone a few days, and I haven't used any sort of "map" applications. Thanks for the quick reply!

Anyone else know what this could be, or how I could fix this?

Todays batt usage is
MAPS- 48%
CELL STANDBY-19%
PHONE IDLE-16%
ANDROID SYSTEM-9%
DISPLAY-7%

When i click the maps section it says CPU- 0s
Cell standby and phone idle just give me the time on.
Android system- CPU total 18s CPU foreground 8s and keep awake x min x sec then gives the included packages.
Display also just gives time on.

Someone please help.

I would open the maps app and check the settings in detail - find out if there is something there that is keeping it running/calibrating/something in the background. If all else fails, are you able to uninstall it?

I would also suggest unistalling the maps and then re-installing and updating. Then use a task manager to kill that app when not in use.

First off thank you all for replying and trying to help. I can't uninstall (i wish), and the maps app is not even running or using any CPU yet in my battery usage it is still close to 50%??? I do not understand at all. In the maps application in settings the only options are cache and labs. In cache setting I can set the auto cache to wifi only or wifi and mobile. I have it to wifi only. (wifi is ALWAYS off)
Im not really sure what to do, as stated before my batt isn't all that bad, it is just really frustrating that half of my batt is being used on something that I don't use.

Thanks
