Market always crashing (android.process.media)

Newbie
What can I do to fix the (android.process.media) error that occurs every time i go to launch the marketplace??? I already tried taking everything off my sd card, copying it to a folder, reformatting the card and then putting everything back on the sd card and that didnt fix it?

Please help
 
Are you on a stock rom? Are you on the old or new market? Usually clearing cache data etc etc etc of market usually helps me, a reboot after doing that also helps me at times, don't know if it'll help you.

stock rom, new market, tried clearing the cache, i could always try it again i guess

Well not really, have you tried playing music from the sd card? ex: you had the sd card on another phone but put it in yours? That causes the media to crash, make sure you have a copy of all your songs though or files on the sd, I read how formatting your sd card on your phone helps stop these problems becaue android.process.media isnt dealt with market but with sounds. The sd card uses the same settings at times to basically make sure you backup the files on your sd card to your computer, then format your sd card by clearing all of it. then reboot then put the files and see if it still has that issue.

P.S i got confused when it came to the process lol. process.com.android.vending is market lol

im alittle lost, music plays fine on here no issue, but i cant get market to load or download, when something starts to download it begins like normal but the market crashes.
 
Try clearing both Data and cache. The data part is just your gmail login info.

When you relaunch it will just ask you to accept the market terms.

rooted yes, didnt remove the browser, but I did install upgrades for the market, then I reinstalled them later when it wouldnt update stuff because the market was too old it said.
 
I would try wiping your cache in recovery and then flashing gapps again. Your download could of been corrupted.
 
Download Gapps which is Google apps. You can find a link in PlayfulGods rom thread. Place the zip on your SD card. In custom recovery wipe your cache. Nowin flash zip toggle signature verification and flash the gapps zip and reboot.
 
i just did a boot custom recovery to the phone and now I have nothing on the phone and now I cant download anything to get the stuff i put on my sd card back to my phone, what the hell can I do
 
anyone have any ideas what I could do to get the thing working again, all i want to do is be able to download stuff on the market and play baseball superstars II if I lose everything else on the phone so be it
 
ok all it seems that I have infact some time deleted my browser.apk. I have it downloaded again on my sd card but it wont let me install it, what should I do to install it again??


I also fixed the problem with not being able to install stuff by forwarding the apps I sent viva gmail through my gmail app, to my yahoo account through the metro mail app, so that is good, please help so I can have my phone back
 
Install the rom back on. Browser can't be reinstalled successfully on mostly all roms. You must reflash the rom and then check browser and see if it works.
