Help Market force closing

Most of today, and possibly yesterday, but I'm not certain, my Market won't work. It just force closes and takes me back to the homepage. I even tried reinstalling. What's going on?

Have you tried clearing the market cache?

Yeah...with the Android Assistant. Is there another way that might do something that didn't?

Just to make sure, have you tried restarting or turning off the phone and taking the battery out?

I restarted it, yeah. Would taking the battery out do anything different?

Its worth a shot, won't hurt anything to try.

Nothing new to report. Same stuff.

I really hope I don't need a factory reset. Everything else is fine.

How did you try reinstalling?

The download was still on my phone...I was one of those who sneaked it in a bit early. Should I try to get it from another place? Perhaps that particular file is corrupted? How would I get it from somewhere else?

Yeah I would suggest trying to restore your original market but I have no idea how to do that.

I've a hunch I could download via my cord, but like you say, I have to find out how to do it, where to get it.

OK, I had to do a factory reset. It worked.
