Market locked me out!

shinesley

Newbie
When I try to go to the market (Droid 1, 2.2) it says it needs authenticating with Google. Then asks me to enter the "capcha" code, which I do. Then it gives me another one to enter, which I do. Then it asks me for my myemail@youtube.com password, which I do. Then it tells me the password is wrong and the process starts all over again. I don't have an issue logging on to Google, gmail or Youtube on my computer, only in the market on my phone. And it's the same password. I've had the phone for almost two years and this is the first time I've ever been asked for a password.

Help? Thanks!

Found the email address. Here's what Google told me and it worked, in case anybody else has the same problem:

Hello there,
Thanks for reaching out to us today. In order to resolve this issue, please make sure you've cleared the cache and data of both the Market app and the Download manager. Here's how:
1. Visit Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage applications 2. Tab over to "All" 3. Select the Market app, and then tap "Clear data" and "Clear cache"
For the Download manager:
1. Visit Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage applications
2. Tab over to "All"
3. Select "Download manager," and then tap "Clear data" and "Clear cache"
If you have any additional questions, or if the problem persists, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Best Regards,
Stevie
