It should be there but on other android phones that did not have the market app, all they did was reset the phone to its factory setting and it appeared. Try to reset the phone.
thanks for the reply but still no luck, i resetted under sd card/phone storage to factory data reset, and also repaired using se pc companion, still the same, is their reset combo button for hard reset in this phone?
Where are you located? Some countries don't allow the Android market. If so, one option is to wait till someone roots the X10 software and you can access the market through a custom Rom.
I also found another site where the say that the Android Market is limited in Saudi Arabia, But I do not know why you do not have it on the phone, have you contacted the service provider to see what they say, maybe your phone has corrupted software on it, you may have to exchange it.
That's the list of places where people can publish free apps from. It's different from the list of places where people download free apps. It was linked on the page you provided, and is here:
hey..i am frm saudi arabia..is der any chance i can download any apps without d android market and d file manager..plz guyz help!!!!!! i dont have android market available here ....
The market is location sensitive so the only way to get around it is to debrand your phone to somewhere in the world that allows market access eg UK. The following link is for a thread on this and there is a further link to an external site that gives a tutorial on debranding. I'm sure if you have a bit of a google you may find some more info.
As far as I understand it yes debranding lets you select the country you want and when you then run the update service it gives your phone the android market. However I would say that I am not mega techie... I just zoom around the forums and pass on the info that I think will be of help.
hi,.im new at the forum,.and have a new xperia x10i,.but having the same problem,.i work here in saudi arabia, and i bought my phone here,.and it has no market application also, i followed the thread and tried to restore the phone,.but no luck,.can debranding work for this model?i checked on the settings and the build number is R1FA014.. thanx,.,pls help me,.,
Yes you can debrand a biggi too, many have. I haven't so I can't comment on how it all works tho. XDA developers site is another good one to get info on doing techy stuff to the phone if you want to gather a bit more info before doing anything to your phone.
anyway,. i have this friend who introduced me to "getjar" applications,.there you can download apps not needing the android market,.i tries it and it worked on my phone,.any smartphone can download apps there actually,.just type for the phone model,.

i had the same problem too,.but i think i have a solution for that,.just go to your phone's browser or even through your laptop and check for www.getjar.com. there you can download apps without needing android maRket,.,
Is there a Market "clone" available somewhere, which connects to the actual Android Market? Like something they would use on custom roms? I searched but didn't find much, maybe that could be helpful, although I think the debrand method is easier as if you update/repair you'll still have the market installed.
wow, my market is now working, i am able now to download apps from this market app, its been 2 days now that this apps works, before it error unexpectedly, Now i start to love my phone!!!!!!
