Perhaps someone with more experience can chime in, but I do know that you can download the Android Market off the web:

However, I've never installed it or tried doing so, since the ROM's I use all come with Android Market. Plus, there may be errors and such that occur from trying to install it. You may just want to backup your system then see if it will work. If something goes wrong, then you can at least use recovery to go back to where you were.
