Help market trouble

i don't know if any of you have this trouble but
i can browse through apps
i can start download
but download will work correctly 1/20
even after a complete restoration/repair via SEUS, factory setting...

any thoughts?
 
Go To Settings > Applications > Market > Uninstall Updates

The market will go back to the old version and you will be able to download again but it will soon update to the new version so you will have to do it again when you next download.
 
now works flawlessly while on 3g network (didn't change any settings)
but on wifi.... onlything that isn't working correctly: market
youtube works flawlessly, browser, msn, facebook, etc...
 
You do look pretty angry in the picture :) It could be an issue with your router or a bad wifi connection? You could try the Amazon app market now too if you're feeling adventurous.
 
2 days now having trouble with market "downloading apps"
3g or wifi now
i might try to get a "repair/change" with my carrier on monday
also wondering if the Dell streak has anything more interesting than the x10a
(i'd keep my x10 but keep it as a backup phone)
 
I'm having the same issue as you and I'm with Rogers as well.
Been browsing around the forums and google'ing for the past days trying to find a solution.

I'm about to throw this phone away too lmao
I'm curious with what you said with the Rogers tech support since I'm leaning towards getting a Galaxy S. Mind sharing?

Me x10a running Rogers Stock 2.1 ROM w/official Multitouch update.

The odd time I had the market not downloading apps issue, but with uninstalling Market Updates and Clearing cache, it worked afterwards. Only happened me once I think. [It could of been in the 1.6 android days]

For the most part. Love my x10a. never has given me any issues. :D
 
I also tried cleaning the cache and uninstalling the updates but it didn't work.
Apps that I tried downloading just bugged on the "Starting download" process. Sometimes I would even try to go on the "Downloads" page, the market would just crash.
I've never really had significant problems like these since my purchase.
I can deal with the laggy interface and slow reponse time, but these kind of problems are sort of irritating.
Don't get me wrong though, I still like the X10, its still a great phone nonetheless.
 
recieved the new phone today
1st test: same trouble
sill now try to uninstall market update and clean cache... we'll see after that

and all i said to the "tech" is 'my phone can't download via wifi but can via 3g'
then he tol 'well a brand new one is on its way, when you recieve just resend the old one'
 
still the same...
so might be a rom trouble
(Rogers Rom of course)

the one i recieved last week appears to have a faulty wifi adapter :)

weird.

My x10 wouldnt' connect to my buddys wifi network until I reset his wifi password. Worked with my laptop but not my phone.

Hopefully you can update this one and hopefully it stays problem free.
 
All three of your phones were fine. Most likely the "problem" isn't a problem with your phone. The wireless networks you are connecting to probably have the port that the android market operates on blocked. That would explain web traffic working fine and the market failing only when on wifi.
 
im new and cant get any help maybe one of you can im in major panic mode without my phone, its a rooted huawei ascend and im totally stuck at the huawei screen. any sugestions
 
finally the wifi card is perfect... but still have the said market trouble over wifi

Goto Settings and chose the first option, Sony Ericsson and chose to download settings. That should reget your settings from your provider.

Also in Settings, open Applications, check Unknown Sources.

I have had problems with accessing the Market several times after I completely reflash the phone and it usually takes a reboot and resetting some settings before I can acutally download anything from the market.

Sometimes I could access the market and it wouldn't download anything and other times it just wouldn't access the market at all.

Now if you have the option for that Unknown Sources...that would let you maybe update the market APK.

You could copy over the newest market APK and then run it. Not tough, but I haven't had to do that.

After resetting and getting those settings repushed from your provider turn off the phone and take out the battery for 5 sec and start it back up and try again.

Once you get it to work once it will always work....just that first time can be a problem/pain.
 
well the thing is it worked from august till early march
then... nothing
and we haven't change any setting on the router
but i might try to get a new market.apk
 
addded port 5228 to router (TCP and UDP)
worked for a day then... not anymore

If you turn on your Data plan and try and access the market via Data and not via wireless then guaranteed it is a routing issue and your home network.

If you have a DMZ setup on the router and that DMZ isn't your phone, then you will probably run into port forwarding issues eventually.

Hopefully you don't have any DMZ setup at all.

Make sure your phone doesn't have any stupid antivirus or security/firewall app on the phone.

If you can access the internet over wifi, but not the market....it is a problem on the phone with the market.apk or more likely, your routing.

Alot of people think routers never mess up....they do...a lot....when in doubt, remove any created rules on the router and reset your router password and restart it
 
wow... i have amazing news

3rd x10a has the same trouble as both older one lol
so tomorrow i'll check with the shitty router we have (from Bell sympatico "modem + router + wifi 'g'")
