Market Update?

I updated to 2.1 about 3 weeks ago.

My son just got an X10 today and I helped him update to 2.1

The Market on our phones have different layouts. Mine looks and runs exactly the same as 1.6. My son's has a different layout, look at feel. Both work fine, both have the same functions but they UI is different.

Anyone else notice this or is there a way to update the 'version' of the Market app itself?

The new market is rolling out to X10 handsets. I got mine by doing the following...

Go to settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> Market ... clear cache...uninstall updates...force stop...then wait 10 minutes and open the market again...you should then have the new market :)
 
My market doesn't work properly since my last flash. And after reading this post it really doesn't look any different than it did with 1.6 as I recall. I can download things fine... but if I look in the list of free apps, most of the things i've installed don't show installed...they show free. Also when I go to the download link I always get a network error. I occasionally see updates available when I open the market and can install them... but I never get the notification in the system drop down menu that i have market updates available like i used to in 1.6.
 
Oh and I tried clearing the cache, uninstalling updates waiting and reopening the market and that didn't work :(
 
Mine changed today on both phones. Couldn't find my downloads to start off with, d'oh! Got it sorted and it managed to update all my apps altho the install portion of the updates seemed to take a while. That said it was updating a lot of apps. Looks a bit funkier and it would be very nice if it solves all the download problems that have been kicking around now for a while.
 
Now that I think about it... while it didn't look different when i upgraded to 2.1 I did get the 'upgrade all' option which I didn't have before...so I must have the newer version. It's not working 100% of the time as illustrated above however.

But I think there should be an option to filter what you want in searches, for instance, search free apps only, or search themed apps only, etc.
 
I prefer AppBrain to the Market....haven't used the Market in months. AppBrain helped me take note of every application I had loaded before the upgrade. Then after the upgrade I loaded AppBrain....Sync'd and it chose to install all the same applications that I had before.

AppBrain works better for updates too...don't have to click one at a time. Just Sync and click Perform Installs and it works like an upgrade batch file.
 
I have the new one now after rebooting the phone... or at least it could be...or it could just have been released yesterday lol I like it...works great too.
 
I installed the Eminence Rom by X10iUser but I cannot seem to find the Market Application in the Application list in Settings, What can I do to get the update?

I have an SE x10a 2.1, but i don't have the "Uninstall Updates" button on Market :confused:. I still have the old UI layout too :(
