For some reason, the marketplace won't let me update my apps. Its says I have an update, I select update 6, then it does nothing except say downloading, but nothing is downloading. It's also not always telling me when I have an update. I will go into the marketplace, select an app, then it says "update" next to it. How come it is not letting me know?

I had that very thing happen a while back with my Droid 3. I remedied the issue by going into the Market app in application manager and uninstalling the Market update, cleared cache and data then rebooted.
If any weird issue comes up with Market, it's most often just Market itself.. it is a very unreliable source as far as function goes. But sometimes it's corrupted or incompatible data in the vendor/Market app in the device, thus the data and cache clearing remedy for many issues.
