Marshmallow?.....meh!

After waiting in excited anticipation for what seemed like months, I finally get the marshmallow update.........and almost immediately regret it! Battery life was awful!!......But, I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and wait a week to see if things settled down......they didnt improve a bit, so luckily I managed to find out how to downgrade back to lollipop, and bingo, battery life back to acceptable levels!
To be honest, marshmallow didnt look much different to lollipop either, so no loss there!
Hopefully, sometime in the future, google will address this issue and I'll give it another try, but until then, I'm happy with lollipop!

Verizon forced the download on me. Now it nags me everyday to install it. I have no idea if it will kill two legacy apps I use everyday so I have no desire to "upgrade".

Which apps? I'll install and see if they give me any problems.

Marshmallow's been ok for me, but I've been running a custom ROM so the dev may well have ironed out any kinks with the stock LG release.

From reviews on Play Store, weatherbug elite no longer exists and the latest version of weatherbug is riddled with bugs apparently. It wants me to check the option to allow it to draw over other apps, but it doesn't appear in the "draw over other apps" list. I'll use it for a little longer and see if it gives me any jip.

Xscope seems to work fine, they only issue I had was watching videos via the ign website but Firefox and Naked Browser all have similar problems with that. From my limited use, it's definitely usable. Shame the developer had abandoned it as it was my favourite browser for ages.

The paid version of weather bug isn't available in the UK going by that url.

Despite allowing location access, it can't get a fix on my location so it doesn't work at all.

I'd hold off updating you use weatherbug a lot tbh.

Xscope on the other hand has been great!

Here in the UK have had Marshmallow for a while now and its been great especially the battery life. It will go a full day and still have about 30% left at bed time. Well pleased

Reset for me wasn't too bad. Before getting the update, make sure to perform an LG backup. Then after the reset, restore it. It took a while, but everything (even apps from outside Play Store) is restored. If you use a 3rd party launcher that has backup capability, be sure to do that as well.
