Help Marshmallow Photos Issue

Runninrep

Lurker
I have a Moto X Pure Edition. Just upgraded to Marshmallow. When I access Google Photos and select a photo from a few days ago, it brings up the selected photo for 1 second, then jumps to a photo I just took yesterday. No matter what photo I select, it jumps to the same photo after 1 second. I deleted that photo and now it chooses another photo to jump to no matter what other one I choose.

I ran the follow processes recommended by a Motorola tech:

1st- Please Go to settings > Storage > Cached Data > Tap Ok.
2nd: Please go to Settings > Apps > All Apps > Tap in the App Photos> Tap Force Stop.
3rd: Please go to Settings> Apps> tap in the three little dots located in the right corner> Tap Reset APP Preference and then Restart the device.

It worked. But today when I restarted my phone, the issue is back. Any thoughts?

It does sound like more of a problem with the Photos app rather than with any particular pictures in there. I would have said clearing cache would be best bet but if it has happened again I don't know what to suggest.

Yes, I think it is the Photos app. It doesn't happen in Gallery, only Photos. Now running those processes doesn't fix it.

Could try uninstalling photos and reinstall? Or go into settings>accounts & sync>google and try unchecking and checking photos or re-syncing. There is nothing really more to suggest I don't think I'm afraid :(

How do you uninstall the Photos app. I only see that I can Force Stop or Disable, but not uninstall. I'll try Diable.

I Disabled it, re-enabled it, and it seems to be working fine. There was an update that came through, which I downloaded. Then there was another update to Marshmallow, but there was an error during the download, so I cancelled it. Right now everything is working fine. Thanks.
