I have had a massive data use of around 6gb occur around a day ago. Total use since getting this phone (galaxy note 5) 5 days ago went from 2.5gb to 9gb since yesterday, in what appears to be about a <12 hour window.
Upon checking, it was apple music which used this data. I generally use this for about 2-3 hours a day, and according to online estimates it uses about 120mb an hour when streaming music and I have downloading of songs disabled within the app.
I am at a loss as to how the apple music app managed to use around 6gb of data in a 12 hour or less window (without being used for the whole time). Ive used the app for about 3 hours since last checking my data yesterday (on my phones data counter as well as my carriers). Ive been unable to find anyone else with this problem through google.
Another concern, and i dont know if this is just how my phone reads the apps data usage, but 5.3b of the 7.2gb used by the app is "background data" as opposed to 1.8gb "foreground data". I have no itunes purchases or apple products, so it hasnt been downloading any music library in the background.
I have currently dsiabled the apps ability to use 3g data. Is it possible ive managed to get something insidious on my phone which is going through the Apple app?
