Matched brands?

Are there any advantages to having the same brand of android kit? For example, Im looking at the sony tablet Z, would there be a benefit to me also getting the z1 when my contracts up?

There's nothing you can do with a Z1 that can't be done with any other high-end Android smartphone, although some things such as 'beaming' media and BT pairing may be one-touch between Sony devices. It's pretty cool to be watching a video on the phone, tap it against the tab, and have it start playing seamlessly on the latter.

All of these companies want you to buy everything from them so they all have features that only work - or at least, work more easily - with their kit.

Chances are, sticking to one brand is going to cost you a more than shopping around, though: you have to decide whether you're happy to pay the extra cost for the extra features. That's something only you can decide.
