Help Maximize/Minimize

This is probably a daft question - as in one I should know the answer to, but I've never wanted to do it before:

How do I minimize and maximise windows on my phone?

For example, if I had an internet page open, but wanted to go to an app on my phone but return to the webpage without starting it up again.

Not daft at all. You can't "minimize" an app in android, but you can leave it running in the background. If you are on a web page, hit the home button and do whatever else it is you need to do, then long press the home button and the last 6-8 apps you've used show up in a pop up, click your browser and you should be back to your web page.
