Help Maxx Email Issues with Gmail and Email app

Hey everyone,

I recently bought the Razr Maxx via VZN. Great phone and all.

One problem I am having is the email setup with the phone. What I mean by this is I am getting emails through Gmail app AND Email app that is included. Additionally, I am getting some emails through the Gmail app and some others through the regular email app that is included. In the end, my email icon on the top left when I receive an email shows two (2) email icons. How can this be? How do I fix this? What I want to do is simpy utilize the gmail app and NOT the email app (the other email app).

I hope this makes sense. This is starting to get really annoying.

Go into Settings - Accounts and Sync and check off syncing with your "email" account. Moto Blur may do something different, but that should be it. You can also go into the Email app and remove any notifications.

So once I do this, will I be using the GMAIL icon or the regular EMAIL icon? If it is the regular EMAIL icon, how do I tell it I want to use the GMAIL icon for everything?

Okay, so to rectify the problem, I reset the entire phone and did not touch the factory email icon.

The one problem I am having is telling Gmail app how often I want it to check for email. Any ideas on this?
