I have the maxx and found it to be the best phone I have ever had. As with many of us, we like the newest gadget. Is anyone pondering the Galaxy 3? Why or why not? The main plus, besides the bigger screen, is being able to carry an extra battery in my pocket for emergencies. Your thoughts?

I'm pondering it as well. I have a $250 gift card to best buy and I have an upgrade available july 24th so I might just pick it up for the heck of it. I like the s-voice that it has, I like that it comes in white. I don't like that its made by samsung LOL

The Android APP called Assistant does the same thing S-Voice and Siri does.

Cnet tested S-voice against Siri head to head and S-voice failed miserably. Siri is not that great to begin with so if it stomps on S-voice, then it means S-voice is pure junk.

I hope people are smarter than to buy a new phone just for a gimmicky feature like voice assistant, ICS, or camera quality. The top reason SHOULD be call reception/quality and battery life.

Just sayin'.

Hey, I just joined this forum, and I could really use some help. I have an new phone upgrade available soon, and I cannot decide which phone I want. I have narrowed it down to the Samsung Galaxy S3, and the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx. I am not the most knowledgeable when it comes to new devices, and I was hoping someone on here can help me decide. So far I know that the Galaxy S3 has a faster processor and larger RAM. But, I was also wondering how great the difference in the battery life was, I normally charge after the end of each day, so it doesn't really matter to me. Thank you so much for helping.

I have heard good things about the S3's battery life compared to other Android phones, but I'm sure it can't touch the Maxx. As far as other things, I know that the Maxx's camera is severely lacking. That's about all I got. Good luck!

It's a toss up. The Razor Maxx feels much better in the hand and does have a better battery life.I can see the S3 falling out of my hand with a slippery back. The Razor Maxx may have a better sound quality but you can adjust the sound quality with a built in eq on the S3. it's close. As far as reception I've been in places with the S3 where it was reading -120 db but the conversation went fine. I don't know if this is a software glitch or a differrent mesuring scheem than what moto has. I'm a little more confident in reception and sound quality from Moto. the Sammy also get's a little warm.

However the the S3 has much better features, it's much faster as far as application launching and browsing the internet. The camer is faster and has much better software than the moto. The screen is bigger and better for games. The thing I can't stand about Motorola droids are if you need to change the volume while in a phone conversation you have to pull the phone away from your ear to do that. Thats really the thing that made me want to switch. I'm senstive to things like that.

So yes it's a toss up. let's put it this way I can't have 2 phones. I'm using the sammy now (because I brought it yesterday) but I'm not selling my moto yet either.

Bottom line if you are looking for durablity and reception and sound quality go with Moto with conferdence. If you are looking for a toy with more features go with Sammy

If you charge everyday it doesn't really matter, the S3 will do 1-2 days depending on usage, upto 3 days with power saving mode.

The Razr Maxx I'd imagine should beat or least match that but the specs are nowhere near as good.

The Galaxy S3 is in another league, even the Galaxy S2 easily outperforms the Razr.

Update. I I75 in alagator Alley I dropped a call twice with the galaxy s3 and the Motorola razr maxx I never dropped. Clearly Motorola has better much better reception

Which has better security functon, I have to have a phone that will wipe itself if fail pword 10X. Not a remote wipe.
