maybe getting a droid, please help

Well I got pissed at my eris and broke it, it was rooted. I'm looking at a droid at best buy bexause I only have 150 and an available upgrade. How do I know if this is the droid or droid2? Will this be the best verizon android for 150us? Also is it really getting 2.2 soon? Can someone tell me some info about this like spec-wise please? Also I like the dark metal body . Thanks for the help in advance.

The Droid 2 has not been released. Unless you're talking about the Droid X, then it's the original Droid. All you want to know about it is here:
