Root MB3-MD5 (ICS to JB)

you must also be running MB3 on your device.

recovered to a backup i had from feb. updated to MB3 with the zip successfully... failed with the MB3 to MD5 update with error 7

I'm just going to give up trying to debug the updater zip.
there are just too many errors!
I'm going to go back to the first rom and work my way up to MB5.
I will then post a flashable zip in the stock rom thread.
Should take me 2 days at most lol

i still havent tried to update with the OTA because my rush hasnt received it yet. neither has my gfs lol

I had to trick the phone into grabbing the update. Settings>Application Manager>check the all tab and find Google Services Framework>clear the data and force stop.

Then you go to Settings>System Update and Check now. It might take more than once.

I am still having problems, not sure if it's because I am rooted or what.

try doing this it worked for a few of us if your on all stock MB3 including kernel

For some reason the deodexed version passes more than odexed. Of course it errors out because its looking for the odexed files.

Stock don't have xbin/ or the dexdump that goes inside that directory wallpaper/ is missing along with about 11 other errors
Deoxed has the two folders but nothing in wallpaper/ but also has other errors.

Zenwafer uploaded a rooted stock backup of 4.0.4 for cwmr that works great

Just make a backup if you don't already have one, delete/replace what's in the backup folder with the downloaded files. Boot into recovery, restore the backup, wipe data/factory rest. Let it boot, then proceed to flash the 4.1.2 update, double click yes when cwmr ask to keep recovery and root. Now don't forget to make a backup, and back that backup up also

It let me update from lk7 to mb3 but not from mb3 to md5 through the OTA
