McConell: single goal to defeat Obama in 2012

Have you ever heard of a filibuster?:

The Rise Of Cloture: How GOP Filibuster Threats Have Changed The Senate | TPMDC

There is no doubt that the main mission of Mitch McConnell - to defeat Obama - has hurt this country and the economic recovery. Imagine how much better off we all would/could have been if the number one priority of our elected leaders was to create jobs by working together.

The majority of this country lives in the political center (I'm an independent). For some reason, the Republican party has allowed itself to be hijacked by the most extreme element of its party, to the detriment of us all.

We need to demand compromise from our elected officials - that's the only way we all get equally represented.

Thus the term party of no

The Democrats have been hijacked, too. By the same interests.

We've already ben compromised by "our" officials. And you can demand anything you want but unless it comes with more cash than they are already getting from the financial-military-industrial-complex all you will get is a friendly note thanking you for your support.

Now there's an unbiased analysis ...

"Reason Foundation is a nonprofit organization advancing free minds and free markets."

I never said that it was unbiased but what I do like about reason.com is as a Libertarian publication you know that they are 1) biased towards a libertarian viewpoint and 2) they will tear into the Republicans as much as the Democrats. Knowing where a source is coming to me is more useful and in some ways less dangerous than a source that claims to be unbiased, like say Politifact.

The big problem is how so many people have so very little knowledge of how things actually work, who actually does what, and how things must work. They fall for buzz words and a feel good feeling that makes them feel good about spiraling down the drain.

Obama is why we are in trouble. He could have done good, but he is owned by several masters that do not like this country. Mitch at least has a few good ideas and I am willing to listen.

Fact is, if I were President, what I would do would damage lots of people. Eventually, people would be helped, but in the beginning, things would drastically change. Dems would complain and liberal media outlets would call for my head.

Fact is, what MUST BE DONE will not make everyone happy. This is because many are self-centered and cant see a country in trouble past their welfare check.

We are seeing what voting for BS words, and incompetent leadership gets us. I can only hope Mitch, if elected does what needs to be done and if some do not like it, tough for them. Things can get much better if we had men rather than boys in the oval office.

thats the 2nd time youve mentioned if Mitch gets elected..... did I miss something? hes not running for election of anything to my knowledge

A perfect example of your conjecture. Thank you.

Examples? Or is that a buzz word that you fell for? Please, for the love of God and country, don't come back with Bill Ayers and Jerimiah Wright.

It sounds like what you would want to do is cut welfare, Medicaid, unemployment benefits, etc (aka the ). In other words, remove the lifeline to the people that are most in need, worthiness be damned. Your position would create millions of desperate people with nothing to lose. I hope you are at least willing to spend some government money on more law enforcement, because crime and viloence would be out of control whether you like it or not.

I assume you are opposed to raising taxes, right? What have tax breaks done for us as a country? Created jobs? Obviously not. Investment in research and development
