"Media" battery drain?

Why does my battery sometimes drain nearly 5% per hour in a good coverage area when it's in my pocket and 80% of that is "media"? Gsam battery monitor tells me this. What the heck? Anyone else seen this?

Do you have a screen lock other than swipe, or is it possible that your pocket, or something in it, is pushing buttons while the phone is in there?

To my knowledge I'm not accidentally doing anything. I just saw a quick flash of the SD card symbol on the top left that quickIy disappeared. I sure hope its not dismounting it like my 3rd one had to be replaced because of that issue.

One possible cause for this can be when the Media scan of your SD card takes place and comes across a broken/damaged image, video or audio file and becomes, "stuck", during the scan.

That makes sense. I think my SD is fine. I'm getting very tired of Samsung. I'm thinking of going to the M8 since HTC has been shown to have more solid hardware and signal plus touchwiz really lag things.
