Help Media files not recognized

I got a Samsung 10.1 Tablet yesterday, and uploaded my music files to the default directory. When I use a Music player (default or WinAmp) it says no songs. I tried rebooting, downlading an app to rescan the SD Card - nothing. When using a file explorer I see the media files, and can play them when selcting them.
Any idea how to maek the media scna recognize the *.mp3 files?

When you copied the files, did you drag just files or entire directories/folders? If the latter, perhaps you inadvertently included some hidden files left by your music player on the Windows side
