Media has most usage on battery?

I'm trying to determine what is draingin my battery since some users seem to be getting great batter life out of their Razr. I'm only getting 4 hours max with wifi on and 4G off. I'm using smart actions, but am not going to turn off 3G completely since I need to be able to recieve texts and phone calls for work.

When I check the battery usage, it's syaing that media is the largest consumer. How do I determine exactly what that is?

Nope, I don't have any MP4 movies and haven't even used any of the media apps on the phone yet (except I went into netflix once and that was after this was happening already)

Format your sd card. The phone is constantly scanning your card for some reason.

After reformating do not add any files to your card. Keep an eye on battery usage. MEDIA should no longer be using CPU time

If that doesn't work help then do the following......

Go to settings > applications > manage applications > all > MEDIA STORAGE and CLEAR DATA.

Reboot the phone.

Let me know if that works.

Thanks! I was impatitent and got a new RAZR - Works like a charm - However, I noted in the short battery life thread that I realized it was mybackup pro that was draining the media - something must have been hanging it up. It's not been unplugged since 5 am and I've had moderate use (videos, emails, facebook, texts, calls) and I'm only down 20%. Amazing compared to what it was doing before.

how did you determine that it was mybackup pro? i htink mine's operating fine, but i'd like to check it out if there was something specific that you saw in that app...?

When I went into my battery usage, Media was the highest, when I clicked on Media, it showed RerWare as one of the items running - That is backup pro - I noticed it when I launched it to manually reinstall some of my apps again.

interesting. i don't see that on mine. do you still have the issue with rerware on your new razr? (i'm assuming not, but can you please confirm?)

That's correct - I no longer have that issue at all and my battery has been great! unplugged for 8 hours with 60% left - I'll easily be able to make it through a day now. THe largest user (as expected) is display and then wifi and then the OS.
