Help Media library won't rescan

I have a strange problem on HTC Legend

after I upload some mp3 files to the SD card, I don't see them in the media list/

I tryed to restart the phone, but it didn't help.

I also tryed to run some "rescan" apps, but the list still not changing.

Please help me to fix that.

I had the same problem once. I then tried a different player (MixZing) to see if that would find them. It didn't at first but it does have a browse for files option and I could find them that way. Once I had found the songs with the browse on MixZing they had been recognised on my standard music player.

Use a file manager (e.g. Estrong File Explorer) to find the folder with that mp3 files.
Then look in the folder for a file ".nomedia".
With .nomedia in a folder, the media player doesn't see the mp3.
Same, if the folder has a dot in front of is name.
