Help media player problem

Hey everyone,

I have a Droid 2 Global through Verion Wireless that I purchased the week after Christmas. The phone has treated me well since then but I have had two issues with it, one was resolved by an update I did last night that was just released (phone would reset when unlocking screen). The other issue I'm having trouble figuring out though.

The media player STOPS the music by itself.

I've used Windows Media player to rip the music onto my computer in .wma files.

I have also changed all of my power saving settings to full performance just to see if that changes it, and it doesn't.

I will select a song using the built in media player and turn the screen off (or even let it time out, won't make a difference) and let the music play. With the built in media player it will play for approx 45 -150 seconds of letting the phone idle before it stops playing. When I turn the screen on the media info is at the unlock screen if I press play the song will restart, as if the media player was stopped, NOT paused. This happens with the phone being charged or not.

When the car is in the cradle and music's being played through the "car dock" it does NOT have that problem. Even if the phone is charging or not.

I have tried using other media players such as a google one I found from a friend and winamp, same results.

Pandora, TuneIn radio all work fine.

I've tried STFA, but have not found anything else like this. Is it operator error, or is there a setting that needs changed, or do I need to do something else?

Thanks in advance.

PS, does anyone read the subforums?

No headphones, using the built in speaker. Have sound setting set to built in speaker.

I also should mention I've tried adding the sound files with the usb memory device and dragging and dropping them onto the memory card, also used the pc sync method and dragged media files to the device on windows media player then started the sync. Same results.

With the music playing fine in car dock but not the built in music app/installed media players I'm sure its got to be some kind of setting I'm overlooking and not the media files though.

Someone has to have run into this problem before?!

Problem solved. Remove gallery from auto end list in "task manager".

You should really remove pretty much all of the system apps from the auto end list, they're only going to restart themselves, and it's going to cost you processor cycles, which equals battery. Instead of using task manager, look up autokiller.

Amazing! Was having problems with files not playing, same situation, getting a bit peeved at the "how could android do this?" But turned off the gallery in advanced task manager and now the music plays fine. Odd thing was poweramp did play the files, winamp and the standard music payer did not. Wasted some time jerking the card in and out of phone.
