Help Media Scanning help

Just got my Galaxy S, Very happy with the phone but having a problem with the phone scanning for media. Problem is its taking ages! I started it at 8am this moring and its still scanning at 4pm! Surely it cant take this long! I have the 8gb model with a 16gb sd card.

Also dont actually hve much media on there onlyabout 1gb worth.

Help anyone? Thanks in advance
 
Well, actually, i might have been to harsh.. Not everyone can be techo-literate.


OP, try restarting the phone and/or reinserting the SD card.

Well seeing as i was at work and my job does not allow me to have my phone with me yes it did take me 8 hours! but thanks for the positive answer you have been most helpful errr not!

I have sorted it out myself without your helpfull advice by re-formatting the internal memory and all seems ok now so thanks again
 
Well you did not give any specifics, so...

Also, if you formated your entire memory without trying with the basics (restart, reinsert the card), you are indeed not very bright.

If you fill your memory with videos, pictures, music and what not, and the same happens again, youre just gonna formatid again? Good luck

I had tried the basics before i even posted here, Why dont you try being helpfull instead of being so pedantic and trying to be clever and putting people down! Its people like you that put people off using forums like this!
 
1 you did not post about trying those things, thats why i wrote it, so you dont go rushing to format if it happens again

2 i did try to help you, and you shot me down :(

3 english is not my first language (nor second) so while i might be "sounding" smug, i'm actually not. I learned british english.
