Mediascape

"B"

Lurker
Is there a way to customise media scape or can it be removed and replaced with something better

I have uploaded a lot of music and audio books on my X10i and all audio books are ordered by chapters
What I mean is I have 5 chapter 01 then 5 chapter 02 and so on.
Can't listen to them like that

Also any music album with more then 10 tracks it play the tracks past 10 first and then after the last it starts with track 01
I got this phone on a contract and I'm stuck with it.
Otherwise it would have been gone weeks ago:mad:
I thought it would be handy when working away instead of taking my laptop and using a dongle or hotel wifi
The original one packed up after a few weeks and wouldn't charge so this is a replacement and i haven't used it since but stuck with my old but trusty nokia for now

I'm on the 2.1 software and I want to use this phone cos I'm paying for it through my contract

Any help would be very appreciated and I'm a total noob with this type of Phone.

Thanx

here are two free audio book players

MortPlayer Audio Books (beta) - Android app on AppBrain
Audiobook Player 2 - Android app on AppBrain

there are lots of free media player, here is a small sample of whats available

MixZing Media Player - Android app on AppBrain
Music Player - Android app on AppBrain

there are many more

and this is a music player that also supports audio books
Astro Player - Android app on AppBrain

Don't give up on your x10, it really is a decent piece of kit, and although there are some who don't like it, I think it's great. In the near future you will be getting 2.3 gingerbread, and now the bootloader has been bypassed, full custom roms are just around the corner.

Thanx for that

I have added Mort Audiobook
Poweramp I found myself and i'm really impressed with that.
I also found a neat movie Player

Seems excessive to have all those but it suits my needs and I can plug my old speakers right into the X10 and have music playing using the poweramp equaliser to get the best out of it :D

Is there any app i can use for my images?
Something where I can move pictures to folders and organize them properly?
Mediascape really doesn't work as I want it to
Total rubbish:mad: and I want to delete it completely

Hi B

here are two file explorers that will allow you to create new folders, and copy/cut and paste between them. If you download either your pics should be in a folder on the SD card named DCIM
AndExplorer - Android app on AppBrain
ES File Explorer - Android app on AppBrain

Please be careful with these file managers.

You might want to give this a try also, some people prefer it to mediascape for photos.
Gallery Shortcut - Android app on AppBrain

One of the great benefits of these phones is that there is nearly always more than one way to skin a cat, and if you don't like something on your phone you can usually change it or customise it to your requirements

Thanx
I installed the gallery short cut and i like the look of it.
I gonna go and check out what it can do.

I have just one question about battery usage
If I have shortcuts on all 4 home screens will that add to my battery usage?
I have moved everything into folder on one home screen and I really don't like it.
However my battery seems to last well but I also turn of data transfer every time I don't use a online app now. That helps a lot with battery life

I am not certain about battery usage, although I wouldn't have thought shortcuts would not have too much effect on life, widgets seem to be a bigger battery hog. Perhaps someone else could confirm that.
